Ban on Africa

14 Oct

In light of the Ebola outbreak in some countries on the African continent, some individuals in the entertainment industry are calling on the Government of Jamaica to put a ban on travels to and from Africa.

However, other artistes, such as Fanton Mojah, do not support such a ban as they claim persons are looking at Africa as a country and not a continent so though some areas have Ebola there are still countries that are not affected.

They say if the Government should implement a ban it would prevent artistes from performing on shows and making money in the countries in Africa that are not affected.

The Jamaican Government has issued warnings to persons to be careful not to travel to the affected countries of Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria. Two Jamaican artistes, Alaine and Chris Martin, are known to be currently touring in African countries.
