If the world’s expectations ever fazed Bob’s firstborn son, he’s never let it show. “I don’t carry any weight,” he says. “This is a family. Whatever we are is the same way we grow up—nothing has changed, really. Each individual role is important.” He sees himself less as a patriarch than as a “voice of reason.” Still, there’s a clear “hierarchy of the elders, the adults, which is Cedella, me, and Sharon (the oldest). Stephen is a bridge to the younger ones, who wasn’t around Bob a lot.” If anything, his siblings’ success Continue reading

How to get there

Skip the plane and catch the air-conditioned Express des lles ferry, which sails direct from Martinique to Roseau, Dominica in just two hours. Book in advance online and double check specified dates, as the boat schedule is subject to change. A one-way ticket starts at $40 Eastern Caribbean Dollars (XCD), equivalent to approximately $55 USD.

Sardinia is among the exclusive destinations visited by the SeaDream mega-yachts.

SeaDream Yacht Club, a two-ship cruise line that caters to vacationers looking for a decidedly upscale experience, celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. Its ships are small, carrying just 112 guests each, and that means they can call at smaller, exclusive ports and harbors.

The SeaDream I and SeaDream II mega-yachts are known for their casually elegant onboard lifestyle and they often schedule multiple overnights in off-the-beaten-path destinations.

“Guests have destinations they wish to check off their ‘must visit’ list and the SeaDream Yacht Club crew enjoys helping them reach many travel goals,” says SeaDream Yacht Club President Bob Lepisto. “At the same time, we take greater pride presenting finely crafted Continue reading

The one-mile heart-shaped stretch of white sand beach at Magens Bay was the after-dark shooting site for a scene in the 2011 American-made romantic fantasy. Edward (Robert Pattison) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) are two vampires celebrating their nuptials in the moonlight on the sand and in the surf. This was the last scene shot in the movie. Those in the know say the actors wrapped up the night scene with cocktails and stayed on the beach to watch the sunrise.
