24 Year Old St.Kitts-Brit Named Assistant Commissioner of Police in the UK

Ashley Bertie will take on the role of Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner

A fresh faced 24-year-old Brit of St.Kitts heritage has been appointed as one of two Assistant Police and Crime Commissioners for the West Midlands in the UK.
Ashley Bertie a former office researcher and management trainee since 2014 was named to the key role.

Crime Commissioner  David Jamieson said Bertie will bring in fresh perspectives and represent his  peers.

“Ashley has previously led from within my office on Stop and Search and helped bring about big reductions in disproportionality and improve confidence in the practice.

“I am looking forward to Ashley bringing that same determination and fresh perspective that he brought to Stop and Search to other areas of work to drive improvements and increase confidence across a wide area of issues,” said Commissioner Jamieson

Born and bred in Kingstanding, Birmingham, Mr Bertie is said to have played a huge part in transforming the region’s stop and search policy in his previous role as Management Trainee and Researcher.

Bertie was born to St.Kitts parents from Old Road and Halfway Tree.
