Chronixx got a lot of bashing from Vybz Kartel fans following his interview with Vice’s Noisey Jamaica where he called the dancehall star a “cannibal.”.

During the interview the outspoken reggae singer spoke about the violence in Jamaican music and singled out Vybz Kartel as the main contributor.

“Vybz Kartel himself has done a lot of good things in life, I must say,” Chronixx said. “Gangsterism, cannibalism… because Vybz Kartel overtime became a cannibal. When you listen to his music it is very cannibalistic.”

Chronixx, who performed at Coachella last weekend, sat down with Reshma B of Boomshots where he cleared up his comments and even refers to the incarcerated dancehall star as his musical big brother.

“As far as Damian Marley is concern… and I am sure he knows that he is really a big brother to a lot of youths and myself being one of them and its good that we have a big brother like him because we have many other big brothers,” Chronixx said. “You talking about big brothers like Mavado, big brothers like Vybz Kartel, big brothers like Flexx.”

Chronixx went on to name a few other artists like Busy Signal and Sean Paul.

Regarding the comments that he made about Kartel during his Noisey interview, Chronixx says that the media and some overzealous fans blew it out of proportion.
