Marc Anthony Set to Headline St.Lucia’s Jazz & Arts Festival

The 25th annual St.Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival performing acts has been announced, and will feature Grammy award-winning Latin singer Marc Anthony as its headliner.

Marc Anthony is one of the most influential performing artists of his time, and an ambassador of Latin music and culture at a global level. He has had 25 Billboard chart hits ,has sold over 12 million albums worldwide, receiving numerous gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America along the way. He was inaugurated into the Billboard Hall of Fame in 2012, and was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington D.C. in September 2009. He has won a total of 25 Premio Lo Nuestro Latin Music awards, the most for any male artist, and has been honored with the ASCAP Founders Award. He’s received twelve Billboard Latin Music Awards, three Billboard Awards, and a special recognition from the Univisión television network in the last 2 years.

Other performances includes Grammy Award Winners; Shaggy, George Benson; the legendary Kool and the Gang,Air Supply, Omi, French zouk masters Kassav; jazz saxophonist Donald Harrison Jr. and two-time Grammy nominee Joey Alexander, Chris Standing, Teddyson John, Irvin Loctor, Ronald Hinkson, and the group BWB.  The line-up also includes a tribute to St.Lucian poet; Sir Derek Walcott (also of St.Lucia’s  Nobel Laureates) will be presented through the play “Omeros,” produced by Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London.

Revamped, redesigned and with a broadened artistic direction, the Caribbean’s premier cultural event — the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival 2016— will attract thousands to Simply Beautiful Saint Lucia. Cultural enthusiasts, festival lovers and music aficionados will be wooed by over 50 world-acclaimed entertainers and artisans over the 9-day festival events.
