The Caribbean’s Largest Resort Project is Planning a March Debut

8 Jan

Nassau’s Baha Mar resort is targeting a March 27 opening date, according to the project’s Web site.

The property announced the move with the debut of a new video called “The Voyage,” introducing the resort as the “new riviera.”

The Baha Mar, the largest resort project in the Caribbean, first broke ground in 2011. It is slated to include 2,200 rooms spread across four hotels: a Grand Hyatt, an SLS Lux, a Rosewood and a flagship Baha Mar Hotel and casino.

It will also include a residential component.

The property additionally features a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course that recently joined the TPC portfolio.

The $3.5 billion resort is one of the most anticipated projects in the region in some time; it was built by China’s State Construction Engineering Corporation; China is an equity investor in the project.

The project, located on Cable Beach on the Bahamian island of New Providence, had been slated to open in December 2014.
